US Bank Accounts for Non Residents

Many non US citizens want to do business in the United States. Unfortunately, many U.S. banks have made it nearly impossible to open a business bank account without an in-person visit.

With Covid-19 in the news since March, 2020, international travel has come to a trickle. This has made opening a bank account in person a near impossibility.

Can I open an account if I’m not physically in the United States or a United States resident?

Generally no.

What if I don't have an Employer Identification Number (EIN) from the IRS?

Most banks require an employer identification number.  If you are a non-US-citizen and do not have a social security number, please be prepared to wait awhile to get your employer identification number.  If you have a social security number or you have a partner with a social security number, the process to get an EIN will be much easier.

Delaware Business Incorporators, Inc. is not involved in the application or approval process.
