Legalization of Documents US State Department

The Legalization of Documents of a Delaware company in a foreign country that does not participate in the Hague Convention* is usually a 4 step process.
    1. Order the document from the Delaware Secretary of State if it has been filed with the Division of Corporations, otherwise, obtain a Notarized copy.
    2. Obtain the Authentication of the Delaware Secretary of State.
    3. Obtain the Authentication of the US Department of State.
    4. Forward the documents to the foreign embassy of the desired country for legalization.
DBI offers assistance with every step of the process. If you are an existing client of DBI, contact one of our Incorporation Specialists to find out if you qualify for a discount on our regular service fee of $85 per document authenticated by the US Department of State.

    *The terms of the
1961 Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents provide for legalization of a document for international legal use in all the nations that have signed the Hague Convention. See the Apostille Service section of our website for more details.

Many foreign consulates will require your documents to be authenticated by the US Secretary of State Hillary R. Clinton before the documents will be legalized for use in countries that are not a party to the Hague Convention.
