A Ready-Made Company is an LLC or Stock Corporation which has already been named and registered with the Secretary of State, but which has not been used to transact any business activity, and has no liabilities and no assets. None of the Ready-Made Companies offered for sale by DBI have ever had a previous owner. Generally, a Ready-Made company is purchased because it is ready to transact business or enter into contracts immediately upon purchase.
An Aged Shelf Company is a Ready-Made LLC or Stock Corporation which was created some time ago and has been reserved in the unused state. The company is already several months or years old at the time of purchase. Generally, a Shelf Company is purchased for reasons of establishing a credit history, obtaining a loan, or developing an image as an "established" business.
FAQ's about Ready-Made and Aged Shelf Companies Q: What if I don’t like
the name?
A: Depending on your
level of business activity and the state you wish to do business in, you may
have the option of doing business under the name of your choice by registering a
“DBA” (aka Trade Name, Fictitious Name, Assumed Name, Alternate Name). In
states that offer this option the cost is usually $50-$100. Contact an
Incorporation Specialist to discuss the options available in your
state.
The shelf corporations and LLC's listed below have been registered in Delaware.
